Norma Burzette
1924 – 2005

Norma L. Burzette, age 81, of Sartell, formerly of Perham, died Saturday, October 15, 2005, at Country Manor Campus, Sartell.Funeral services were Tuesday, October 18th, at Perham Methodist Church with Reverend Roger Parks officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Deer Creek.

Norma was born on October 15, 1924, to Hjalmer and Gladys (Barker) Fiskum in Almora. She grew up and attended school in Folden, and graduated from Henning High School, Henning. She was united in marriage to Jack Burzette on October 24, 1943, in Minneapolis. They lived in Brownsville, TX during WWII, ran a restaurant in Parkers Prairie, and then moved to Perham where they raised their children until 1969, when they moved to Brainerd, where they worked until retiring. Norma was employed at Perham Jobbing Co., Buchholz Drugstore and the Bigler Clinic. She volunteered for many years at Bethany Nursing Home in Brainerd. Norma enjoyed square dancing, card playing, photography, crafts of various kinds and being with her family. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxilary and volunteered extensively in the Methodist Church.

Norma is survived by sons Jack (Pat) Burzette, Salome, AZ, Jim Burzette, St. Paul, Michael (Karen) Burzette, Sartell, sisters Dorothy Halvorson, Henning, Dodie Rortvedt, Henning, Bev Armstron, Willmar, Harriet Sahli, Stillwater, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding Norma in death were her parents, husband Jack, on May 10, 1998, infant daughter Mary Francis, sister Wilma, and brother Gaylord.
