Alfred H. Congdon
1916 – 2005
Alfred H. Congdon was born September 1, 1916, to William Charles and Ann Elizabeth Congdon in Devils Lake, North Dakota, which was the nearest town to the farm where they lived. In 1918, the Congdon family moved to rural Parkers Prairie. In 1922, they moved to farms in Woodside Township and then Bertha Township in 1926.
Alfred enjoyed hunting in the fall and fishing in the winter, but spent most of his time taking care of the family dairy farm.
He passed away at the age of 88, on Saturday, August 27, 2005, at the Fair Oaks Lodge Nursing Home in Wadena where he had resided in recent months.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents William and Ann, and his siblings Amy, Edward and Cynthia.
The funeral service was held at Wrightstown United Methodist Church on Tuesday, August 30th.
Rev. Larry Hager officiated.
Internment was at the Zion Cemetery, Bertha Township.
Pallbearers were Max Klemek, Leslie, Schwantz, Art Packard, Carrol Boehland, Rodney Leyh, Darrel Kaphahn
