Edwin F. Diedrich
1915 – 2005
Edwin Fred Diedrich, 90, of Bagley, died on November 13, 2005, at the Greensview Health Care Center in Bagley.
Funeral services were held on Friday, November 18th, at Faith Lutheran Church in Bagley, with the Reverends John Omans & Mardy Schermerhorn officiating. Interment was held Friday, November 18th, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery of West Miltona, near Parkers Prairie, under the direction of Reverend Noel Herr.
Edwin was born on April 4, 1915, to parents Carl and Anna (Dittberner) Diedrich at their home near Parkers Prairie. He was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in South Effington Township. Edwin’s parents died at a young age. Edwin & his brother Robert took care of the family farm until Robert passed away in 1961. Edwin later sold the farm and became a hired hand on many farms until retirement. He eventually came to Bagley to live with his sister Viola Bonik. He lived with her until June of 2000, when he entered Mac Manor Nursing Home in McIntosh. In October of 2000, he came to the Greensview Health Care Center in Bagley where he passed away.
He loved farming, mowing lawn, animals, flowers, and playing cards with his great-great nieces. Edwin was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Bagley.
Edwin is survived by his brother Walter Diedrich of Fargo, ND, sisters Viola Bonik of Bagley, Alvina Hoiland of Bagley, Cora Eastland of Hastings, Violet Miller of Miltona, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert, sisters Freida Fritz, Laura Diedrich, Ella Hicken, Esther Zinter, Delpha Miller, and an infant sister.
