James D. Diekow
1959 – 2005
James D. Diekow, age 46, a resident of Perham, formerly of Parkers Prairie, died on Friday, August 12, 2005, at his home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 17th, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Noel Herr officiating. Music was provided by organist Iverdin Christensen. Burial took place at St. James Lutheran Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Lind Family Funeral Service, Parkers Prairie Chapel.
James Donovan Diekow was born on May 12, 1959, to Donovan and Marcene (Dreger) Diekow in Parkers Prairie. He attended Parkers Prairie Public Schools, graduating in 1977. Following his education, he drove milk truck in Urbank. He was united in marriage to Rose Peterson on October 4, 1980, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Urbank. They later divorced. He moved to Elbow Lake in 1984, where he continued driving milk truck and also worked at an egg plant. He moved to Alexandria to work at a milk plant and recently moved to Perham. James worked for Strata Concrete for the past 10 years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Perham. He enjoyed carpentry, hunting wild game, and collecting antiques.
He is survived by his son James “Jay” Diekow (and fiancée Jessica Harris) of Bemidji, daughters Rachel (and husband Brent) Laporte of St. Paul and Crystal Laporte of Mankato, his parents Donovan and Marcene Diekow of Miltona, brothers Bruce (and Miran) Diekow of Tacoma, Washington, and Michael Diekow of Alexandria, sister Debra (and Gary) Clough of Mora, and a grandson Samuel Diekow of Bemidji.
Pallbearers were John Haffner, Ryan Diekow, Lawrence Suchy, Gary Clough, Jason Moske and Scott Ingberg.
