Adam Johnson
1983 – 2005
Adam John Johnson was born February 23, 1983, in St. Paul, the son of Dan and Julie Johnson. Adam grew up in Lino Lakes, and graduated from Centennial High School. Following his graduation he attended Alexandria Technical College where he studied diesel mechanics. He met Kelly Brunson, who also studied and graduated from diesel mechanics.
Adam was employed at Becker Auto Repair in Alexandria where he worked on automobiles and Bobcat skid loaders. On June 11, 2005, Adam was joined in marriage to Kelly at St. Mary’s Church in Alexandria. The couple made their home in Alexandria with their two daughters MaKayla and Kensley.
An avid outdoors man, Adam enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and camping. He also enjoyed playing hockey and baseball. His proudest accomplishments were being a husband and a father.
On Saturday, July 23, 2005, Adam died at Vining. He is survived by his wife Kelly Johnson of Alexandria, children MaKayla and Kensley of Alexandria, parents Dan and Julie Johnson of Lino Lakes, brother Jesse (and Amy) Johnson, of Mounds View, grandmother Jean Skarda of Alexandria, grandparents Ray and Sally Johnson of Plymouth, and parents-in-law Robert and Wanda Brunson of Garfield. His grandfather Ronald Skarda preceded Adam in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, July 29th, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria. Rev. Al Ludwig was the celebrant. Interment followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Casket bearers included Joe Sorenson, John Skarda, Jesse Johnson, Amy Johnson, Jon Brunson, Dean Johnson, Jenny Heiman, Grant Gotwald, Glen Kerfeld, Bill Brunson, Bill Johnson and Jake Klosner. Honorary casket bearers include Nate Peterson and Holly Brunson.
