Hazel M. Klausman
1911 – 2005

Hazel Margaret (Schulke) Klausman was born April 17, 1911, in Carlos Township, Douglas County, to Robert and Annie (Lemke) Schulke. She was baptized and confirmed in the Carlos Lutheran Church in Carlos.

On May 22, 1929, Hazel was united in marriage to Gerhard Klausman in Alexandria. The couple worked and farmed in Carlos and Belle River areas until retiring in 1970 and moving to Alexandria. Gerhard passed away July 13, 1986. Hazel lived her last eight years at Bethany Home in Alexandria.

She is survived by her three sisters Agnes (Duane) Huizinga of Alexandria, Lily Dreger of Alexandria and Ella Froemming of Miltona, special nephew Jerry (Carol) Zastrow of Alexandria, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerhard, sisters Myrtle Zastrow, Lena Rajdl, Martha Miller and Frances Miller, and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Saturday, April 23rd, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Miltona with Rev. Noel Herr officiating. Organist was Deb Joachim and soloist was Marcia Luedeke. Interment was held in the Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria. Pallbearers were Alan Bettermann, Todd Bettermann, Richard Zastrow, Wilford Miller, Wayne Dreger, and R.O. Luedeke. Honorary Pallbearers were Joel Zastrow, Pamela Bettermann, Michelle Zastrow, Candace Bettermann, Samuel Bettermann, and Tyler Bettermann.
