Verla Krueger
1918 – 2005

Verla Krueger, age 86, formerly of Parkers Prairie, died on Wednesday, August 3, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

Funeral services were held on Monday, August 8th, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Robert Peterson officiating. Music was provided by organist Gloria Hollatz and vocalist Dedra Zwieg. Burial took place at Parkers Prairie Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Lind Family Funeral Service, Parkers Prairie Chapel.

Verla LaVonne Krueger was born on November 21, 1918, to William and Mae (Darst) Grotey in Parkers Prairie. She attended public school, graduating from Parkers Prairie High School in 1937. Following graduation, she attended business college in Moline, Illinois. She was united in marriage to Harold Krueger on April 14, 1939, at Sisseton, South Dakota. Following their marriage, they made their home in Parkers Prairie. Her husband Harold died on May 11, 2001. Following his death, she moved to Elk River to live with her daughter and son-in-law, where she resided until the time of her death. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and confirmed on May 28, 1947. She loved music, shopping and being with her family.

She is survived by her daughter Kay (and Larry) Gloe of Elk River, three grandchildren Darcy (and Charles) Morris of Blaine, Rand Madson of Zimmerman, and Joseph (and Alana) Madson of Scottsdale, Arizona, 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and three brothers-in-law Elroy (and Alice) Krueger of Vacaville, California, Edward Kruger of Bend, Oregon and Gail (and Judy) Klein of Parkers Prairie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter and son-in law Lee and Les Ottman, her sister Ferne Distler and a niece Tonia Heisley.

Pallbearers were Rand Madson, Joe Madson, Scott Strong, Douglas Reineke, Buddy Kalpin, Victor Tejeda, Curtis Lahman and Gerald Freudenberg.
