Janice McGinn
1924 – 2005

Janice McGinn, age 80, a resident of Parkers Prairie, died on Saturday, August 6, 2005, at St. Williams Living Center in Parkers Prairie.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, August 11th, at St. Williams Catholic Church with Fr. LeRoy Scheierl officiating. Music will be provided by organist Kathleen Green.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m., prayer service, Wednesday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are by Lind Family Funeral Service, Parkers Prairie Chapel.

Janice Leona McGinn was born on December 14, 1924, in St. Paul to Willhelm and Leona (Bruss) Bauermeister. She grew up in the Twin Cities area, graduating from Central High School in 1943. Following her education, she worked in Washington D.C. during WWII. On March 23, 1946, she was united in marriage to Edward McGinn in Minneapolis. Following their marriage, they lived in St. Cloud and Alexandria before moving to Lake Irene near Parkers Prairie in 1977. Janice moved to St. Williams Living Center in July of 2004. She was a former member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River, and a member of St. Williams Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, canning, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Jan is survived by her husband Edward, sons John McGinn of Parkers Prairie, and Mike (and Kathy) McGinn of Alexandria, a sister Gerris Anderson of Blaine, Washington and grandchildren Jacob and Rachel McGinn.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Neal Bauermeister and Bryant Bauermeister.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and friends from St. Williams Living Center.
