Marvin O. Moske
1933 – 2005
Marvin O. Moske, age 71, a resident of Parkers Prairie, died on Friday, May 6, 2005, at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 10th, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Music was provided by organist, Jan Heins and vocalist, Dedra Zwieg. Burial was at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Almora.
Arrangements were by Markham-Lind Funeral Service, Parkers Prairie Chapel.
Marvin Otto Moske was born on October 3, 1933, in Parkers Prairie to Otto A. and Mildred F. (Hendershot) Moske. He was baptized on September 20, 1934, at his uncle and aunt’s residence and confirmed on June 6, 1948, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He attended country school and Parkers Prairie Public Schools. Following his education, he served in the U.S. Navy for two years. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Parkers Prairie and worked for the Soo Line Railroad. Later Marvin moved to the Twin Cities where he worked until returning to Parkers Prairie in 1975. He helped care for his father in his later years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, baking and cooking and flower gardening. He especially enjoyed his visits with the nursing home residents.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred Moske of Parkers Prairie, two sisters Margie (and Norman) Schulke of Almora and Bonnie (and Raymond) Anderson of Alexandria, a brother, Larry (and Joanne) Moske of Parkers Prairie, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Otto A. Moske in 1999.
Pallbearers were David Moats, Jr., Rick Anderson, Darliss Lange, Travis Koep, Brian Applelgett and Nolan Hanson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay McMahon, Norman Schulke, Ray Anderson, Harvey Jahnke, Harvey Moske and Clarence Moske.
