Esther I. Schmidt
1963 – 2005
Esther Schmidt, age 41, a resident of Parkers Prairie, died on Monday, July 18, 2005, at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 22nd, at St. William’s Catholic Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. LeRoy Scheierl officiating. Music was provided by organist Kathleen Green and the church choir. Burial took place at the church cemetery.
Arrangements were by Lind Family Funeral Service, Parkers Prairie Chapel.
Esther Irene Schmidt was born on November 8, 1963, to Joseph and Lois (Jones) Danielson in Pelican Rapids. She lived there until she was three years old and moved with her family to Alexandria, Rothsay, and Minneapolis, before moving to Eagle Bend. She attended Eagle Bend Public Schools. Following her education, she was united in marriage to Robert Brown in Farmington. Following their marriage they lived in Farmington where she worked for Duo Plasatics.
In July of 1991, Esther moved to Parkers Prairie. She was united in marriage to Duane “Dewey” Schmidt on October 22, 1994, at St. William’s Catholic Church in Parkers Prairie. Following their marriage they lived in Parkers Prairie where she worked for St. William’s Living Center as a nurse’s aide. She also worked at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria before working for Prairie Community Services as a group home assistant. She was a member of St. William’s Catholic Church, it's ladies aid and a volunteer with CCD. She helped with the Parkers Prairie Girl Scouts. Her hobbies included gardening, shopping and picnics. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and family.
Esther is survived by her husband Dewey, her mother, Lois Danielson of Eagle Bend, four daughters Alisha Brown of Glenwood, Brittany Schmidt, Tamara Schmidt, and Miranda Schmidt all at home, a brother Daniel Danielson (and special friend, Colleen Nitti) of Eagle Bend and a half sister, Charlotte (and Phillip) Hespenheide of Belle Plaine.
She was preceded in death by her father, a daughter Tonya, a brother Duane “Dewey” Danielson and a half brother Lloyd Danielson.
Pallbearers were Sonny Schmidt, Doug Schmidt, Gary Schmidt, Pat Schmidt, LeRoy Ahlers and Mickey Lint.
