Thomas S. Shaw
1956 – 2005

Thomas S. Shaw, age 49, a resident of Parkers Prairie, died on Saturday, September 17, 2005, at his home.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, September 22nd, at St. Williams Catholic Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. LeRoy Sheierl officiating. Music will be provided by organist Kathleen Green and vocalists Rose Lorentz and Mary Seidle. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.

The visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., with a 5:30 p.m, prayer service Wednesday at the Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are by Lind Family Funeral Service, Parkers Prairie Chapel.

Thomas Steven Shaw was born on May 13, 1956, to Guy and Ann (McKellep) Shaw in Bertha. He grew up on the family farm in Woodside Township, rural Parkers Prairie, graduating from Bertha High School in 1974. Following his education, he attended Staples Technical College. Thomas was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Reineke on August 7, 1976, at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Henning. He worked at Home Crest in Wadena and at Lakeland Manufacturing in Alexandria for many years. He lived on the family farm, milking cows and crop farming for 23 years. He loved to dance, hunt and fish. Spending time with his family was one of the things Thomas enjoyed and he especially enjoyed making fishing jigs with his sons.

Tom is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn, his parents Ann (Shaw) and Reinhold Dobbs of Bertha, sons Cyrus Shaw at home, Urban Shaw, Ivan Shaw and Mark Shaw all of Parkers Prairie, daughters Emily (and Warren) Rust of Parkers Prairie, Lucille (and Owen) Prather of Clarissa, and Irene Shaw of Parkers Prairie, four grandchildren, brother Daniel (and Cindy) Shaw of Parkers Prairie, sisters Patti (and Dale) Camacho of Hewitt, Linda (and Kurt) Johnson of Eagle Bend, and Maggie (and Neil) Zimmer of Clarissa, and his mother-in-law Annella Reineke of Henning.

Thomas was preceded in death by his dad Guy Shaw and his father-in-law Leon Reineke.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Shaw, Jerome Reineke, Joseph Reineke, Warren Rust, Owen Prather and Tronn Paulson. Honorary pallbearers will be Cyrus Shaw, Urban Shaw, Ivan Shaw, Mark Shaw, Eric Brauch, Trevor Prather, Zack Rust and Thomas Rust.
