Milo A. Wark
1943 – 2005
Milo A. Wark, age 62, a resident of Parkers Prairie, died on Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at his home.
Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2005, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Music was provided by organist, Gloria Hollatz and vocalist, Jackie Reineke. Burial took place at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Almora with full military honors.
The visitation was from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at the Markham-Lind Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie and continued one hour prior to the service at the church.
Milo Arden Wark was born on February 16, 1943, to John and Ruth (Wright) Wark in Henning, Minnesota. He attended Henning Public Schools. Following his education, he served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1965. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Johnson in Almora. Following his honorable discharge, he worked in the Twin Cities, later moving to work in Montana and Washington State. He returned to Minnesota in 1992, working for R. D. Offit Potato Farms in Perham. He was united in marriage to Beverly Wangerin on November 22, 1996, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie by Rev. Kirk Lee. Following their marriage they made their home in Parkers Prairie. He continued to work at the potato farm until retiring early due to ill health. They later moved to his mother’s farm near Almora to be closer to her and to help care for her. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, old time dancing, playing cards with Harold, Ann and Ron, gopher trapping with Marvin and deer hunting with the guys.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; his mother, Ruth Wark of Almora; two daughters, Carman Branstedt of Colfax, Wisconsin and Shawna (and Mike) Teckency of Moundsview; a son, Jason Wark of Bozeman, Montana; a stepson, Michael Rokes of Rochester, Minnesota; two stepdaughters, Kristine (and Leif) Erickson of Coon Rapids and Karri Hendershot (and fiance, Nathan Cambell) of Henning; three brothers, John Wark (and special friend, Karen Clevette) of St. Paul, Steve (and Sharon) Wark of Avon and Lindley (and Kathy) Wark of Fergus Falls; two sisters, Lucille Klimek of Henning and Karen (and William) Rehm of Henning; his godson, Levi Anderson; eight grandchildren and six step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Wark.
Pallbearers will be Steve Malmgren, Sjon Malmgren, Jeremy Wark, Sean Wark, Dale Venzke and Larry Klimek. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Kuhne, Ann Kuhne, Ron Kuhne, Steve Waskowski, Bob Harmon and Skip Simonson.
