NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by the City of Parkers Prairie until 11:00 AM, March 26, 2019 at the Parkers Prairie City Hall, 102 N Otter Ave, Parkers Prairie, MN 56361, and will be publicly opened and read at said time and place by representatives of the City of Parkers Prairie.  Said proposals for the furnishing of all labor and materials for the construction, complete in-place, of the following work associate with the street and utility improvements in Parkers Prairie Minnesota:


Miscellaneous Removals, Grading, Aggregate Base, Bituminous Pavement, Concrete Curb & Gutter, Water Main, Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer, Erosion Control and Turf Establishment.

Proposals, specifications, plans and other contract documents are available for review at the Parkers Prairie City Hall, 102 N Otter Ave, Parkers Prairie, MN 56361, and at the office of Design Tree Engineering, 120 17th Avenue W, Alexandria, MN 56308.  Proposals, specifications, plans and other contract documents can be also purchased by mail, upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit of $50 for each contract package through Design Tree Engineering.


Bids will only be accepted from Contractors who purchase Bidding Documents as specified above.  


Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond made payable to the City of Parkers Prairie for at least five percent (5%) of the amount of the Proposal and an Affidavit of Attendance for the mandatory Pre-Bid conference.


The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive any informalities in bidding or to accept the bid or bids, which best serve the interests of the Owner.  No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of opening the bids.

Parkers Prairie Public Schools - School ISD #547 invites bids for the Secure Entry Remodel at Parkers Prairie Elementary School in accordance with bidding documents prepared by Wendel. Bids will be received for a single lump-sum prime contract.


BID DATE/PLACE OF OPENING


Bids will be received on or before Tuesday March 26, 2019 @ 3:30 pm. and will be publicly opened at that time. Bids will be received at the district office at Parkers Prairie High School 411 South Otter Avenue, Parkers Prairie, MN 56361.


SITE INSPECTION


The project site is Parkers Prairie Elementary School, 518 South McCornell Avenue, Parkers Prairie, MN 56361. Bidders who wish to make inspections of the site must make arrangements with Superintendent Dean Yocum, # 218-338-6011. When arriving at the school, bidders must check in at the school office, and inform the school that they are on site. Bidders shall carefully examine the sites of the work, and shall become fully informed of all conditions and limitations affecting the extent of the Work.

Proposals, specifications, plans and other contract documents are available for review at the Parkers Prairie City Hall, 102 N Otter Ave, Parkers Prairie, MN 56361, and at the office of Design Tree Engineering, 120 17th Avenue W, Alexandria, MN 56308.  Proposals, specifications, plans and other contract documents can be also purchased by mail, upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit of $50 for each contract package through Design Tree Engineering.


Bids will only be accepted from Contractors who purchase Bidding Documents as specified above.  


Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond made payable to the City of Parkers Prairie for at least five percent (5%) of the amount of the Proposal and an Affidavit of Attendance for the mandatory Pre-Bid conference.


The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive any informalities in bidding or to accept the bid or bids, which best serve the interests of the Owner.  No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of opening the bids.

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 547, Parkers Prairie Public Schools, was called to order by Steve Inwards at 7:00 p.m.  Board members present:  Lyle Oeltjenbruns, Judy Moeller, Glenn Cornish, Jeff Samuelson, Scott Wagner and Christy Hart.  Absent:  None.  Student Board Members present:  None.  Administration present: Superintendent Dean Yocum, Secondary Principal Carey Johnson and Elementary Principal Steve Radtke. Superintendent Yocum noted an update from RAED was provided.

A Facility Committee meeting to discuss possible capital projects and projects for a potential bond renewal has been set for Monday, March 11th, 7pm, HS Media Center.

Superintendent Yocum stated that Education Minnesota Parkers Prairie has notified the district of their intent to negotiate a 2019-2021 labor contract.

A Calendar Committee meeting to discuss the 2019-2020 school year has been set for Monday, March 4th, 3:15pm, Elementary Media Center.

The Summer Food program has been losing money and staffing has been an issue.  Board consensus to continue the program as long as there is staffing.  The number of sites may be reduced.

Discussion on the School Lunch program.

Family passes for athletic events was discussed.  This will be addressed again at the April meeting with a decision to be made prior to the 2019-2020 school year.  Principal Johnson will conduct a survey with High School students.

At this time, students will have enough instruction days and hours to meet state requirements.  No makeup days will be scheduled at this time.  This will be discussed again at the March school board meeting.

It is School Board Appreciation Week.  Superintendent Yocum thanked the Board for their continued commitment to our school.

The Parkers Prairie City Council will consider a Conditional Use Permit request from St. William’s Living Center at a Public Hearing on April 15, 2019 at 7:00 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers.  The public is invited to appear in either opposition or support of the request.


St. William’s Living Center is requesting permission to construct a parking lot on their property, located at the corner of North Clayborn Avenue and West Jackson Street (just north of the St. William’s Living Center facility and the recently-vacated portion of West Jackson Street).  The area of the proposed parking lot (on lots 7 and 8 of block 18, Lakeview Addition, Section 15, Township 31, Range 037 – parcel numbers 75000990155000 and 75000990155003) is currently zoned R1; single family residential.  The property is currently used for storage and overflow parking.  The requested Conditional Use Permit would allow the construction of a parking lot to be used for St. William’s Living Center employees and guests.
